On the Beach

I remember the summer days on Île De Ré, in the 1980s, teeth shattering, lips blue from spending far too long splashing in the ocean, walking up the beach to the family's sandy base camp. My mum would wrap me in a giant towel, that had been baking in the sun, and she would rub my back and hand me a pain au chocolat or a peach.... I remember the feeling of safety in that towel, of love and freedom, and the enduring spirit of summer holidays....

At Jolene, we enjoy tapping into all the pleasure centres, through food, design, touch, smells, recalling joyful memories to the surface and inspire us to create new ones...
