Getting lost isn’t so easy these days.

I recently turned off my phone and handed it over to be locked in a drawer for five days while on a retreat.

A whole five days!

It was an unnerving experience — one that only reinforced how attached we’ve become to technology and the feeling that we always need to be connected.

It takes a concerted effort to step outside our comfort zones, switch off, and truly get lost in nature, music, conversation, and all the simple stuff.

When the phone basket was finally put back out, I was in no rush to turn mine on.

And when I did, the world seemed to spin a little faster again.
