Ham + Melon

The practice of eating ripe fruit with cured meats is thought to have been started by the early Romans, but really, who knows? We are, however, very thankful indeed to whoever got us there.

The combination of fruit and pig, in some shape or form, is, let’s face it, one of the very best. Whether it be old-fashioned roast pork and apple or even the controversial ham and pineapple pizza, which for some has its place after a night out.

At this time of year, when the weather is hot and the fruit is ripe and at its best, one of our favourites is the ever faithful melon and ham. The salty, sweet combination of melon paired with some fancy Italian or Spanish ham is confident in its simplicity and almost certainly more than the sum of its parts.

In fact, we like it so much that we thought we would create a ham + melon T-shirt to celebrate our love for this simple pleasure. A raspberry + vanilla cake T-shirt caters for those with a sweet tooth.
