A gift from Dolly

By all accounts, it was one of those weeks that started with gloomy news that required lawyers, consultants, evidence gathering, hours of soul destroying hold music and endless meetings trying to resolve a bureaucratic injustice that is a real nightmare for any small business.

It was a dark start of the week. But then an email from the Jolene team with two pictures attached changed all that!

The first image was of a bright yellow envelope with the words: "Here is a gift from Dolly! Enjoy!"

The second image was a love note from the Grande Dame of country music herself written to us in her delightful unintelligible scribbles.

All this magic was made possible in a series of cosmic bread crumbs which led Lucia, the daughter of Bart Sher, to visit Jolene for dinner each time he visited her from New York. 

Then Bart, the theatre director of the Lincoln Center In New York, got involved with Dolly working on a musical production of her life set to launch in Broadway this year.

And that's how Dolly's hand scratched the paper with her big glitter pen which was hand delivered by Bart himself on his next visit, which was last week, when we all needed it most.

Our next zoom with the lawyers did not seem that important anymore, nor did the issue we were desperately trying to resolve, because when Dolly writes you a little love note.... well.... nothing else really registers for a long lingering while.
